pollen project *
In growth since summer 2022.
pollen is a communications project, seeking and saving stories about nature which unlock deeper responses. Since its emergence, pollen has been,
Building a time-capsule of interviews
Seeking stories which are moving and memorable
Sharing articles reflecting on events and ideas
Exploring the role of art in climate/nature communications
Despite being unfunded, the project is growing gradually through connections with those who are drawn to it. In Spring/Summer 2026, our focus is to add a few more thoughtful articles to the pollen collection.
Whilst pollen maintains an online presence, we try to keep the internet as an archive and a conduit for offline actions. We try to leave those who interact with ideas to process in their own time.
If you’re wondering where to start, try reading ‘Cocaine Shrimp’. That story feels like a clarifying point in the project’s journey, and it starts to describe the approach which all following actions have been rooted in (noticing and processing everyday signals of the changing world around us).
In the coming years, we hope to refine that approach and to gather past work into something more enduring than a website. We welcome collaborations and contributions.

* We write ‘pollen project’ without capital letters to make it feel like an embedded part of sentences, and (in time) conversations. Whilst we know this is a small detail, it says something meaningful about how we work now and envision project in the future.
